Namaste’

Providing a space for our community to come together regularly to breathe, move, connect, and be present is the heart of our mission and vision. These past weeks and days, we’re learning just how important that mission is… But we are having to shift and adjust and find new ways to honor and fulfill it. We think we have.

Starting tomorrow, with our second complimentary LIVE online yoga class, The Yoga Sanctuary will be bringing you near daily classes that you can participate in from the safety and comfort of your home.

We’ve been working hard to make this happen and we’re so excited!!
Read all the details below…and join me on your mat.

on-the-horizonOther Ways of Supporting Your Practice and Yourself
Our job, more than ever, is to be here for you. We’ve put together some other ways that we may be of service.

  1. Studio Boutique with ‘curb-side’ service and home delivery! If you find that you are in need of a yoga prop that you don’t yet have, reach out! We have a wide variety of props in our boutique. We will put your order together and bring it out to your car! (We’re taking our lead from our local restaurants!) And if you are in full self-quarantine, we will even deliver then to your front door. Just send us an email and we can make that happen.
  2. Our online Zoom platform gives us the capability to continue to offer Private and Semi-Private Yoga Sessions, as well as Wellness Coaching Sessions.
  3. Stay connected! We will continue to keep active on our Facebook page by sharing what’s happening at the “studio,” offering calming practices, inspirational reads, good news, and fun FB Live events.

Together, we will come out the other side of this…

Dear TYS students and sangha,

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we are closing the studio doors until further notice. All workshops and events are postponed and will be rescheduled for a future date.

Today, many of you joined us for our first LIVE on-line class. It was a humbling experience and a great success. To be with so many of you, near and far, practicing in community is what sangha is all about. We will continue to offer this sacred space to you. We are busy finalizing the details for daily on-line offerings and will be in touch shortly with registration details.

Our hope is that this passes sooner than expected and we can come together in person again soon.

Be well…
Much love from us all…
Jennifer, Gary, Anna, Margit, Melissa G, Melissa M, Pat, Sharon, Heleen, Gill, Robin, Karen, Jimmy, Kim, Christie, and Sarah

Dearest Sangha,

We’ve been so busy here at the studio lately; busy trying to navigate this new emerging world we are finding ourselves in… Throughout this whole process our one main goal has been to find ways to support you in your practice. We know for many of you, this practice is a grounding and nourishing force. And for many of you, being without it has been a challenge. With that said…

I know it’s late notice, but we just couldn’t wait…
The Yoga Sanctuary is going LIVE online!

Please join us tomorrow at 12pm for our first ever LIVE online class. This first exploration into LIVE online teaching will be an experiment for all of us. There may be some glitches and things to figure out and navigate. But we promise you this… We will be there, present and committed, to walking this path with you.

See all the details below!

With so much love and gratitude,
Jennifer

Our Prop Wall: Before

Our Prop Wall: After

Dearest TYS students and sangha,

It is time to update everyone on our second stage of coronovirus, COVID-19, precautions.

After much thought and consideration we have decided to add the following to our ongoing protocols:
  1. PROPS & MATS: As mentioned in our last email, ALL props have been removed from the studio and are being sanitized. Please BRING YOUR OWN MAT to any classes that you attend. If there are other props that you use in your practice, please bring them with you. We will be a no prop studio for the time being. Once props are returned to the studio, you are welcome to use them. However, please bring a towel to cover any bolster, block, or blanket use. Our Prop Wall: After
  2. CLASS SIZE: We are reducing the maximum capacity in all of our classes. Classes held in the upstairs studio will have a maximum of 7 people. Classes held in the downstairs studio will have a maximum of 15 people. Please preregister to ensure your spot. NOTE: All preregistered spots will be held up to 5-minutes before class start time. If you are not there by that time, your spot will be given to a walk-in student. And remember – bring your mat!
  3. CLASS SCHEDULE: Effective Tuesday, March 16th at noon (12pm), we are returning to our off-season schedule. Please always check the online schedule to be sure the class you are hoping to attend is current. NOTE: If you have registered for a class that is no longer on the schedule, you will receive a cancellation notice. We apologize for any inconvenience.
  4. WORKSHOPS & EVENTS: As of today, all events are as scheduled. That may change. If you have registered for an upcoming event, please watch your email for any schedule changes.

Ongoing procedural changes and enhancements:

  1. Suspending hands-on assists.
  2. Pausing our complimentary tea service.
  3. Boosting and extending our regular cleaning procedures.

What we ask for from you:
  1. Please bring your own mat, and any other prop you might need.
  2. Please wash hands before and after class.
  3. If you are feeling unwell or have recently felt unwell, please choose to stay home.
  4. If you live with someone that is feeling unwell, please choose to stay home.
We will continue to keep you updated and informed. Our promise is to stay present and committed to walking this path with you. Be well.

Two hands together, chin to chest, and with much love…

Friday, March 13, 2020

Dear TYS students and sangha,

Just as we know you are, The Yoga Sanctuary is closely watching the shifts and turns that are occurring around the Coronavirus, COVID-19. Much seems to have changed over the past few days and we feel your concerns deeply.

At this time, The Yoga Sanctuary does not intend to close, and our schedule of events will proceed as is on our website. Our hope is to continue to provide a space to be mindful, find stillness, and be present in the midst of these challenges.

With that said, we have put into place a number of procedures and have enhanced those that are part of our daily routines.

We are for the foreseeable future:

  1. Suspending hands-on assists.
  2. Pausing our complimentary tea service.
  3. Boosting our regular cleaning procedures to include staff hand washing before and after class, regular cleaning of all surfaces and door knobs, to mention just a few.
  4. Pausing the regular use of props. This includes eye pillows and mats. Following Jennifer’s return on Monday, March 16th all props will be removed from the studio to be sanitized. Please bring your own mat and any other props you use in your practice. When props are returned to the studio, use will be optional.

What we ask for from you:

  1. Please bring your own mat.
  2. Please wash hands before and after class.
  3. If you are feeling unwell or have recently felt unwell, please choose to stay home.
  4. If you live with someone that is feeling unwell, please choose to stay home.

What we hope that we all can remember in the midst of this challenging time is not to come from a place of fear, but from a place of concern for ourselves and our community.

Please let us know of any concerns you may have. We are here for you.

Two palms together and with great love,

All of Us at The Yoga Sanctuary
