Nestled between the sea and the countryside of Puglia, this retreat offers an opportunity to reconnect with yourself, your practice, and the simple pleasures of being fully present.
Friday, April 9th – Friday, April 16th, 2027
Step out of your daily routine and into the quiet simplicity of Puglia, Italy.
Here, life moves at a different pace.
Whitewashed stone buildings rise out of the earth.
Olive groves stretch across the hills beyond.
The steady rhythm of the sea is just a short walk away.
Our home for the week is Masseria Specula, a family-owned, restored farmhouse rooted in the traditions of Puglia. Once a self-sustaining estate, it now offers a space that feels both grounded and open. Simple, beautiful, and deeply connected to the land around it.
This retreat is an invitation to settle into that slower rhythm. To walk to the sea. To share meals made with care. To practice, rest, reflect, and reconnect—first with yourself, and then with one another.
The Rhythm of Our Days
Our days will unfold with a gentle and supportive rhythm, one that mirrors the pace of the land around us.
Mornings begin in quiet.
We’ll gather for meditation in the outdoor retreat space, often in silence, allowing the day to open slowly.
From there, we move into our morning practice, awakening the body with thoughtful, steady movement. Nothing rushed. Just a gradual return to breath, sensation, and awareness.
Mid-mornings offer space to pause and explore more deeply.
Through journaling, conversation, and simple teachings, we’ll reflect on the practice of yoga both on and off the mat. This creates space for insight and deep connection.
Afternoons will be a blend of free time and practice.
You might walk to the sea, rest under the olive trees, receive a massage, or simply enjoy the quiet of the property. We’ll then gather again to explore our yoga practice and postures in a more detailed way, building understanding and confidence in the body.
Evenings wind down with gentle, restorative practices. Simple movement, breath awareness, and deep rest to support a settled transition into the night.
Experiences in Puglia
This week also invites you to explore the richness of the region…
- Walk to the sea each day, or take a longer coastal path to a natural salt lake—home to wild flamingos
- Visit Ostuni, the “White City,” with its winding streets and expansive views of the Adriatic
- Enjoy an olive oil tasting, learning the stories and nuances of local harvests
- Savor a wine tasting featuring regional varietals like Primitivo and Negroamaro
- Join a hands-on pasta-making experience with local nonnas, followed by a shared meal
- Optional massages to support rest and relaxation throughout the week
There is a simplicity to it all… and a depth.
