The Yoga Sanctuary and our Local Community
The Yoga Sanctuary believes strongly in our local community and in the power of every one of us to make a difference. Since 2007, The Yoga Sanctuary has raised over $25,000 for non-profits in our community. We are proud to offer our support in a few ways. One of the main ways is through donation-based Community Classes, with all donations going directly to the featured organization. We have supported groups such as the Good Samaritans, CHEC, Peace River Wildlife Center, Relay for Life, Florida Blood Centers, and many others.
Community Classes are held monthly. They begin with a brief introduction to the charity and are followed by a fun and gentle yoga practice accessible to everyone. This is our way of highlighting the wonderful local resources we have in our backyard, as well as offering our community a chance to practice yoga at no cost. Donations are optional, and everyone is welcome. No previous yoga experience is required, so bring the family!
We also donate gift certificates to local charity fundraisers so please call the studio if you would like us to be part of your event.
Our December Community Class benefits Guardian ad Litem, the voice for Florida’s abused and neglected children. We are happy to welcome Holly Rodriguez, Regional Program Manager of Guardian ad Litem, who will give a short introduction on how the organization pairs local volunteers with children in need of an advocate in the court system. In place of monetary donations, The Yoga Sanctuary will be accepting new toys for the children in the Guardian ad Litem program. Toys can be dropped at the studio anytime up until December 20th, or brought directly to the class.
