The Yoga Sanctuary and our Local Community
The Yoga Sanctuary believes strongly in our local community and in the power of every one of us to make a difference. Since 2007, The Yoga Sanctuary has raised over $25,000 for non-profits in our community. We are proud to offer our support in a few ways. One of the main ways is through donation-based Community Classes, with all donations going directly to the featured organization. We have supported groups such as the Good Samaritans, CHEC, Peace River Wildlife Center, Relay for Life, Florida Blood Centers, and many others.
Community Classes begin with a brief introduction to the charity and are followed by a fun and gentle yoga practice accessible to everyone. This is our way of highlighting the wonderful local resources we have in our backyard, as well as offering our community a chance to practice yoga at no cost. Donations are optional, and everyone is welcome. No previous yoga experience is required, so bring the family!
We also donate gift certificates to local charity fundraisers so please call the studio if you would like us to be part of your event.
Yoga Month Kick-Off Class: Thursday, August 28th 6:00-7:00pm
September is Yoga Month! Join us as we kickoff The Yoga Sanctuary’s Annual Yoga Month Challenge with August’s Community Class. Discover how you can experience the transformative power of yoga and give back to our community at the same time! Both the Yoga Month Challenge and this special evening class benefit the Peace River Wildlife Center (PRWC). Class opens with an introduction by PRWC’s veterinarian Dr. Robin Jenkins, highlighting PRWC’s role in the care, preservation, and protection of our native wildlife. Next, learn about the Yoga Month Challenge and how you can give yourself the gift of health. This donation-based class is open to everyone and counts toward the Yoga Month Challenge; all donations go directly to PRWC.
Giving Thanks Community Class: Sunday, November 23rd 4:00pm. Stay tuned for details!
